Bill: DSP.008.2500 (Motto)

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2500

Description[?]:

We have for decades continued to believe the current national motto is completely useless as it is not only completely unpronouncable to all but a very few, but it is in a language that has fallen from grace in Sekowo.

Because of this we beleive we need a new motto, thereby we propose the following;

Beati pauperes spiritu. - Blessed in spirit are the poor.

MessageThis is extremely ironic, since Latin is spoken by only the richest 12% of Sekowans, and basically none of the parties here understand it any more than they do Ancient Tsekwon. Maybe the DSP should spend hours designing the more humbly distributed Modern Tsekwon, just as we have spent many hours designing the ancient dialect.

MessageThis motto is totally class-based. Though we like it's simplicity, it is terribly hypocritical in nature.

MessageMore than 50% of the country makes less than 15,000 annually, of that about 1/3 make 5,000 or less.
It's a very fitting motto for our country.

And it can't really be class based, as the vast majority of Sekowans start out poor in the first place.

Is this modern Tsekwon? If so, we are excited to know how the grammar works.

No.. It's a language I created over the years.
I suppose you could use some of it if you want, it wont get much use for a few years anyhow.

    Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.
