MessageThe only 1 we would really disagree on is 5. I don't think we will back down on this. The idea that someone can just receive money from the government for long periods of time, if they are fully able to work but choosing not to do so, is not one we can stomach.

MessageWell it's not like the government does'nt actually check into things.

And it's also to help those that do work but simply can't get by even with what they make.

MessageOOC:
Where's the term dole bludger come from?
Does it have something to do with former presidential candidate Bob Dole?

I've never heard it before.

MessageOOC:

It might be a New Zealand term actually, maade famous by Don Brash, national party leader. "dole" is slang in NZ for the unemployment benefit. A campaign agaist "dole bludgers" was a big part of National's 2005 election campaign.

MessageWe find all of these acceptable save Article 2 (we support small, family-owned farms). We shall however set aside our misgivings and vote in favor.

MessageWe are indifferent about 1, strongly support 2, strongly oppose 3, oppose 4, are indifferent about 5, and oppose six and 7.

If you remove article 3, and at least two out of articles 4, 6, and 7, we would gladly vote for this bill.

OOC:
It was originally meant as a positioning bill.

MessageOOC: Well, it makes an awful lot more sense than your other positioning bills, IMO. We would, however, vote for it if you removed those 3 articles.
