Bill: Military Upgrades (2502.USMC.001)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Revolutionary State Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2503

Description[?]:

Its about time to upgrade some of our tanks. Some were damaged in the civil war, but mainly we feel that, because only half our military budget is being used annualy, we have room for some new tanks.

We propose, that the BDI-2500 be accepted as the new main battle tank of Sekowo. The BDI-2500 is a new tank the USMC's Bisena Defence Industries developed durring the civil war, including one prototype. Main armament is two 125mm cannons. As a secondary there is one .50 cal machine gun. This tank can take out any other known tank one on one. However it is slow. Cost is estimated at 9.5 million per unit, however as it is produced in country, BDI is willing to give a discount ranging from 1 to 1.5 million per unit to us.

Currently the military has 5 billion not allocated, so we can afford these.

Also, be on the lookout for a new upcoming Anti-Air Vehicle Bill for our military.

Charles Chenis - Defence Cabinet Memeber.

MessageOur land forces are not our primary means of engaging foreign powers. We question the need for these new, slow, and expensive tanks. We would prefer to see a slow transition to them, instead of a large-scale purchase.

MessageOf course it is a slow transition, buying them in bulk and eliminating our current tanks would be foolish.

And Sekowo prefers to buy from Sekowan compaines, but thank you for your offer.

MessageIf it is made explicit that these tanks shall be purchased on a replacement-only basis, we shall vote for the bill. Otherwise, we do not believe it necessary at the present time to upgrade our tanks.

MessageThe bill should have stated that explicitly. We shall support this bill on your word, USMC, that it is only meant to be used to acquire a few for field tests.
