Message | All communities that form have the right to remain exclusive, regardless of economic status or social values. What makes a "private sector gated community" different from a housing cooperative of working class citizens with locking doors, gates or security systems? And does a "private sector gated community" refer to privately-owned houses, townhouses or strata-title condos? What about cohousing projects, EcoVillages or small communes? Does the government have the right to set up publicly-funded "gated communities?" We believe it is better for society to allow people to freely assemble in any form of housing or community they desire: the more intentional, the better. It is far better to have people desire to live with one another, know their neighbors, interact with each other in small communities than it is to have persons living in alienation from one another because they have no common purpose other than economic convenience to collectively occupy living spaces. |

Message | To be honest, the NAM isn't sure about their vote, because we do not support exclusive communities, which try to keep others outside. On the other hand, we cannot say private landowners how to use their property. |

Message | "The right to private property, which really isn't even a genuine right, cannot come before other people's rights. We would tear down such creations if thy read 'Whites Only' or 'Men Only', but why is there no anger when on top of each and every one of these creations there is an invisible sign saying 'Rich Only'?" -Daniel Vladimirovich Feterokov, Chairman of the Revolutionary Socialist Party |
