Message | "We are all for empowering the people, but this sounds like a recipe for a bloody anarchy. It will result in more of these chaotic situations we are trying to avert." -Chancellor Karl von Friedricht |

Message | "Your faith in the state is touching, really, I'm weeping over here. Right now, the state has a monopoly on arms, and the citizenry has no means to protect itself from increasingly corrupt and political judges, police forces, jailers and executioners, and, of course, the military. It is obvious many of these elements are under the control of the Democratic Party and other political forces, and the great tragedies that we've seen the ZRSP suffer in recent times is our reason for putting forward the bill at this time. You seem to support our bill for the right to organize citizen militias, but it is useless if they are armed with bricks and bats. I would not like to see a fully armed police force, under the control of the DP, go into battle with striking socialist workers. It would be a bloodbath, and the workers would lose. This measure will ensure a greater peace. We urge your support." - Oko Yono, Defence Critic |

Message | "We are open to increased rights of the citizenry to arm themselves, very open, but this current bill would allow anybody to purchase guns, even the criminally insane or just plain criminals. They would also own any type of weapon, and I for one am uneasy having mobs of people armed wiht rocket launchers. That is no way to keep the peace. And the right to conceal your weapon does nothing to improve citizen's rights, only allows greater possibility for bloodshed. We are well aware of the oppresiveness being levelled at us, primarily from the Democratic Party, but we are unwilling to replace it with brutal anarchy. Allow some restrictions, to ensure that the new 'Arming of the People' is done responsibly, and we'll talk." -Chancellor Karl von Friedricht |

Message | "We removed articles 2 & 3: Any legal weapon may be concealed when carried. Citizens may own any type of weapon. They may be carried anywhere except as determined by the property owner." - Oko Yono, Defence Critic |

Message | "We would prefer that there be some restrictions, such as verification that the person purchasing it has no criminal record or cases of mental illness, but in a show of solidarity as well as attempt to allow our populace to arm itself against its oppressors we will support this bill." -Chancellor Karl von Friedricht |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
