| Yesterday I received a letter from an angry and distraught parent from my constituent. It described the tragic loss of her 4 year old daughter, who was bitten by a poisonous snake that had escaped from next door. I request that the law be altered, and dangerous animals like these are kept secure in licensed zoos to prevent anything like this happening again. |

| Message | I'm not in favor of supporting this, however we would like to regulate the trade in exotic animals so people can ensure buying licensed and controlled species, regulated by the government's policy. Owners just have to know that the animals they buy come with a certain responsibility, if endangering other people with this, they will have to face the consequences on their own. I will not let other exotic animal collectors taking the disadvantage out of this one mistake. |
