MessageWe generally are against Nuclear power (since it's Fission and not Fusion), however as not all areas have access to clean energy technologies we believe that leaving this up to the Federal Districts is for the best.

Also, Nuclear power (Fission) is not totally clean, and produces several barrels of nuclear waste weekly.

MessageBarrels that can be safley disposed of, with out releasing the waste into the atmosphere.

MessageNuclear waste remains dangerous for hundreds to thousands of years.
Plus it costs millions of dollars to safely dispose of, not counting the building of facilities to handle and store it.

MessageClean fusion reactors can yield large amounts of energy while only operating for few seconds at a time, while only producing Helium as a bi-product.

MessageYes, but Fusion reactors are not avialbe, and will not be so for the enxt century.

OOC:
Since Fusion does'nt exist as a viable relaistic energy source in the real world, it is essentially the same in the game.

MessageOOC:
It will, just has to be given time.

The real problem is that people promised the public Fusion within a decade way back in the mid 20th century, when that was basically not going to happen, since they did'nt have the technology to do it.
It's sort of like promising people today that we'll have anti-matter power plants within a decade or two, is it possible, yes, are we gonna have it in less than 100 years, no.

Anyways, Fusion will most likely become a viable energy source somewhere between 2040 and 2060.

MessageWell, there was alot more interest in Fusion publically than to, and they probably did think they could fast track it, however realistically it's gonna take another 30 years atleast, I just said the time period in which I've seens cientists and other say they think it will be viable.

MessageCold Fusion has already been developed (and has occured). However, at present, it requires massive amounts of energy to create the conditions necessary for cold fusion, and as such it is not cost-effective. Many people doubt whether cold fusion can be made cost effective, though it has its supporters.
