From | | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | Pornography is not a victimless crime. I cannot say that I am representing my constiuents, if I do not oppose this bill in favour of the status quo. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | Pornography should not be a crime at all, if it depicts consenting adults. People already are allowed to have consentual sex; why not allow them to provide images of such to other consenting adults? |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | The objectification of persons as sex objects is despicable, and a form of exploitation which treats people merely as a means to an end, rather than an end in and of themselves. There is a very significant difference between private relations between two individuals, and the commericalization of purposefully objectified images. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | It is the position of the Amystian Council that the individual is sovereign, and that the government should act as a policeman in very limited circumstances. Pornography depicting consenting adults is not part of those circumstances. |

From | | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | It is the position of the Shylock Party that the individual is NOT sovereign -- the masses are. And the masses have established this government of which we are part in order to police them all, equally and justly. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | Policing consentual acts such as this, which do not harm the people, is not a just act. If we are to police the masses justly, we must also understand when a lack of policing is most just. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | I refer you to my earlier comments, about the objectification of persons as sex objects, for an explanation of how this harms society, and the people who live in society. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | The Council finds no explanation of the harm this would cause society in your previous comments. Only an opinion of pornography as being despicable is presented, alongside an unsupported claim that it is a form of exploitation. There is indeed difference between private relations, and commercialization of objectified images, but at that rate the Council would also expect the Shylock Party to call for the banning of all television, movies, plays, events, images, and any other form of entertainment or media that involves the relations of individuals. |

From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | Do the other parties have any comments to make on this bill? If the Council is indeed mislead, by all means, show us how. On the other hand, if any other party has any support for this bill, say so and provide it. |

From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | This is not a core issue for the CCF, but we can see no reason to make pornography illegal, when guns are freely available. Pornography often harms real people in its production phases, but its consumption is harmless. At the risk of boring the other parties with the CCF's core issue: the way to reduce the harm caused by pornography is through education, not a sledge-hammer ban. The state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | Even if pornography does harm people in its production phase, keeping it illegal will not affect said harm in any way. Legalizing pornography could bolster the economy with a new legitimate industry, while simultaneously encouraging less harmful means of production as more law-abiding citizens enter the field. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Freedom of Consensual Adult Acts | Message | The Shylock Party feels that discussion has reached an endpoint, and this bill should be moved out of the debate phase, so that parliamentary activity can continue. |
