Message | Article 1: As we've stated ad nauseum in bill debates about shelters, the proposed policy is a violation of our current MAD defensive policies. Why? We have the capability to create a nuclear weapon. We, by our own laws, only possess and use nuclear weapons when we are attacked by chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. Theoretically, this should stop people from attacking us since its a no-win situation. However, if we have shelters, what's to stop us from launching a strike, rushing our people into the shelters and holding out against the inevitable retaliation with relatively few casualties? All of a sudden, we're a lot less trustworthy. Article 2: Is it really necessary we be able to undertaken all kinds of operations for our own defence? |

Message | Article 1: if they atack us first we will destroy them whit nuclear might but the problem is that our people will die just as theirs, imagine there is a crazy leader that atacks us with a nuke, after that we launch our own nukes right? = What if that country has a nation wide shelter system to protec them from our nukes? they will be safe and we wont. Article 2: remember that imaginary crazy leader? wouldnt it be nice to have a hitman in the top of a tower to blow up his brains and aboid All that nuclear nightmare? basicly thats why we need to be prepare both in defense as in preventive ofensive (sorry for bad grammar, im mexican) |

Message | "but the problem is that our people will die just as theirs" Which is why there's no point in attacking us in the first place. "What if that country has a nation wide shelter system to protec them from our nukes? they will be safe and we wont." Hence why we need to keep our eyes on that nation. How about instead of building shelters, we ensure that the nation becomes dependent on something only we can provide? How about we build stronger diplomatic ties? We also have further doubts about the effectiveness of bomb shelters. Specifically, is it even possible to build a network of shelters for the 100+ million people we have or should we just sacrifice some that aren't worthy? Do you really want to live in a nation that decides that some people may live while others have to die? "wouldnt it be nice to have a hitman in the top of a tower to blow up his brains" Can't we just get another nation to do it? What's this hypothetical leader got against Baltusia in particular? |

Message | cmon members of the opx, i would really rather to have a country who decides who lives and who dies than a country that just sits in the floor and sees how good people die |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
