Bill: Hemp Freedom Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Socialist Movement
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2106
Description[?]:
This Bill recognises that hemp is an extremely beneficial crop to produce, with many practical industrial uses. It also recognises that it is unfair to only allow licenced agribusinesses to grow it. We don't regulate who grows potatoes, so why hemp? Although the USM understands the drug connotations of such a crop - cannabis is legal for patients in pain, as well as Hobrazia having a liberal drugs policy. Like any other crop, it would be subject to a taxation of some sort, and so it builds up our ailing economy even more. It can also help some of our poorer family farmers We believe that eletism in growing a certain crop is unfair and stigmatised, so we urge other parties to support our request for all farming businesses to reap the benefits of hemp, as well as our economy. |
