Message | Correction, the earth was made to be a common treasury for none. There is no security in anyone's possessions when all property can be seized. |
Date | 01:30:01, September 03, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Earthly Community IV |
Message | When a tiny minority refuse to release the wealth they have stolen from the majority, they forfeit their place in the community and must suffer the consequence. |

Message | Money obtained by voluntary transactions, by definition, cannot be considered stolen. |
Date | 02:03:41, September 03, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Earthly Community IV |
Message | The earth certainly is a common treasury for all, in the words of the old Digger song. Whether that requires the government to seize property arbitarily is another question. |
Date | 02:10:37, September 03, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Earthly Community IV |
Message | Nothing taken in exchange for temporary relief from starvation is given voluntarily. Unfortunately GA, seizures have become necessary. |

Message | Perhaps. Perhaps the trouble is that the government acts too much as the voice of property owners, too little as the voice of the people. In the words of Adam Smith: "Civil government, so far as it is instituted for the security of property, is in reality instituted for the defense of the rich against the poor, or of those who have some property against those who have none at all.'' |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
