Bill: Kasmenai Construction & Temporary Legislature Move

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2513

Description[?]:

My fellow representatives, the city of Kasmenai (our capital) is about to enter a period of construction, primarily on government buildings and the Kasmenai wall.
Because of this the legislature would be highly disrupted if it continued operating int he city during construction.

Therefore we ask that the legislature be temporarily relocated to the city of Gelai while construction is performed.

OOC:
Realistically this will last for about 5-10 game years.

MessageWhere exactly in Gelai is operational for 750 person assemblies plus offices?

Isn't there office space available to relocate federal government business while work is being done on them.

Couldn't construction on the Assembly be conducted during yearly recess?

Moving to Gelai sounds like a waste of Working People's dollars which could be better used adding funding to Social Housing or other social spending instead.

MessageGelai has a secondary assembly building because it was at one time bidding to become the capital.

A large part of the city is going to be under construction, including nearly every government building, so it's difficult to just relocate in the city.

In case you've not noticed there ARE'NT recesses, the legislature functions all year.

There would be very little money spent, since it's really just having people report to Gelai instead of Kasmenai, since not all representatives actually live in Kasmenai.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
