Message | This is our less partizan effort to reduce our governments spending. It is our desire to establish a more conservative plan, that will leave our people in a position of great economic strength. \r\n\r\nIt is proposed that with the latest medical and welfare reform, the Health and Social Services budgets have lots of room for spending cuts. Additionally this bill should be followed by tax cuts to assist in offseting the costs of healthcare to our people. We have given them the bill, now we must begin the process so they will no longer have to pay twice for it.\r\n\r\nAs for Defence spending cuts. We as a nation have not in modern history ben in a war, and we have no known enemies outside of our lands at the momment. It would be foolish and dangerously to make radical cuts to the defence budget however it is not right to spend so much on defence while a constant arms build up is still unecessary. \r\n\r\nAs for the small cuts to the Forgien Affairs department, We currently have a bill in legislature, requesting a cut back in aid to other nations, if passed this small budget change will in effect be a spending increase when it comes to training and providing for our Affairs personel.\r\n\r\nThis proposal also includes a small increase in Trade and Industry spending, as we feal this is neccessary for our buisnesses to be able to compete on an international scale. This will bring more jobs to the people, and in turn more money into our economy. |

Message | Though we remain somewhat sceptical as to your logic behind the HSS budget cuts, we support the defence cus, and support this Budget in general. Though, if you really do support a free market, and truly believe that the market economy could sustain HSS, why would we need Trade and Industry investment? Surely the free market will ensure we're competitive all by itself? |

Message | You make a paltry 400,000,000 cut to the foreign affairs budget, and leave internal affairs at 3.9B? While justice is limping along at 4.9B. Can you possibly make an argument that justice does not deserve an increase, at least something like 10%? As well, The recent budget deficits have caused inflation to run rampant. I feel that finance should be cut back to curb these inflationary tendencies. |

Message | With all due respect to my learned fellows from the Trader's Faction, their feeling is incorrect. While the budget deficits are playing a strong part in inflation, it could be controlled with a tight, responsible application of monetary policy, which the current government has failed to do. The budget deficits are currently simply an unfortunate facet of the Malivian economy, and one that must be eliminated, but slowly. If we suddenly go to a surplus, then by the same Keynesian principles applied in your inflation argument, we'll have a contraction in economic growth. By gradually reducing the deficit, however, we can keep a leash on continued growth at acceptable rates, without taking us into surplus, and therefore into a contractionary fiscal policy. Does the Trader's Faction support economic contractions? |
