Message | The DPLP make the point why we won't support the bill. If we don't keep it to recognised religions then everyone will be setting up a religion just to miss out on tax. |
Date | 13:39:39, January 11, 2008 CET | From | Lodamun Libertarian Party | To | Debating the No Taxation for Religion |
Message | We support the bill |
Date | 00:54:22, January 13, 2008 CET | From | Democrats | To | Debating the No Taxation for Religion |
Message | We oppose. It should be simple enough to declare a religion "recognised", and it ensures that cults, or non-religions, do not get to claim the same benefits as actual religions. |
Date | 00:56:45, January 13, 2008 CET | From | Independent Republican Party | To | Debating the No Taxation for Religion |
Message | Agreed. The government could have used the old law to tax religions it did not favor, but now, that loophole will be closed. |
