Message | Article 1: Acknowledging the fact the bill equipping the police with high-level arms was so recently passed, we propose an initial step in rolling back those laws, by allowing all officers to bear arms, but maintaining special units equipped with high level arms. Article 2: Someone not having a history of violent criminal acts does not preclude them ever taking part in such acts. As such, the NCPM proposes to tighten license laws, including a five day waiting period for ownership approval Article 3: To say a citizen may own and carry any type of weapon is unreasonable. Indeed, the current laws are such that so long as I carry it openly, I can wander around the nation with a bazooka or a SAW. The NCPM considers this state of affairs deplorable, and seeks to rectify the situation. We will limit ownership to rifles and pistols, semi-automatic, bolt action, flintlock and matchlock ownly. To but incendiary or explosive weapons, or automatic assault weaponry, into the hands of the general citizenry is unwise, and shows that the legislature has not properly thought things through. The NCPM stands against the proliferation of dangerous weaponry internationally and domestically. On the international stage, we cannot allow biological, chemical or nuclear weaponry to continue to spread, and on the home front, adequate weapon control is a necessity if we seek to ensure the safety of our people. I urge my learned colleagues to vote in favour of this Bill, and make it a non-partisan effort to ensure the safety of our citizens. Phillip Hunt Leader of the New Conservative Party of Malivia |
