Well, on the "New Flag, anyone?"(which, btw, is the farthest back my archives go back), only myself, the NFP, and the LPP were around. It was a smaller legislative group back then, with the NFP having 20 seats, myself having 14 seats, and the LPP having 6 seats. There were also other parties around back then(Am I the only here who remembers the "Rob" Party? He was never active, but for 2 weeks he had 100% of the vote O_o. As you can tell, this was right after Luthori was created.)

Messagecould you change the red/black marbled areas into the flat maroon?

when we adopted the lyre, i had wouter change our map color to the same color as the flag

i also think we could change the middle a bit.

instead of the stylised hammer/sickle. why not make it a rounded off "C" and "L" in black and white on the two halves of the yin/yang?

you could also reduce the number of notches on the gear to five, one for each state

and yes, the LPP was here the earliest of us three.

he is party 121
you are party 130

elegant.

the types of flags that i prefer are ones with bold, solid colors in stripes or geometric shapes, and with one small piece of intricate detail.

MessageHow about dividing the flag into four sections:
The upper left section can be reserved for some royal symbol to reflect our current monarchy.
The lower left section can be reserved for a symbol to reflect our five regions.
The right sections can be reserved for some pretty symbol that is iconic or symbolic of the nation (like a lyre or the technocratic symbol, or something else).

MessageI didn't say 'pretty' i said 'elegant'

we want something that shows our cultural superiority, our pride in what we can accomplish, and the strength of our higher understanding of things.

i cannot think of a better symbol than an instrument of music created during one of the peaks of human civilization.

MessageThe Lyre was not created during the peak of human civilization. It was created by a bunch of cattle-farmers in the mountains, who would play it in between raids where they would burn down enemy villages, rape the women, and enslave the children.

But I like the whole "We are better than everyone" idea.

and the lyre is still associated with the ancient greeks, though it may have been created by the farmers.

This one implements the crown in the canton suggested by the LLP and you'll notice the zig-zag pattern repeats 5 times, making 5 white triangles and 5 red ones, one for each state.

MessageNFP: I said pretty mainly due to laziness, I meant elegant, but pretty is a shorter word.

DUP: That is a good flag.

On the lyre, while I agree with the 'we are better than the uncivilized' concept, maybe we should try out other symbols. I was thinking maybe an astrolabe or sextant, but they'd be too hard to put on a flag. Maybe a Torii to go with the shogunate. Maybe something else.
