Proposed: Individuals are allowed to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality.

| Message | If citizens are tooled up, then even petty criminals will be tooled up. If the police are tooled up, then so will more serious criminals. In the UK, almost nobody carries a gun (those that do are way in the country and own most of the land, worse luck) and very few people die from gun deaths. Guns are almost the only thing available to the public which are designed purely for the purpose of killing. There is no excuse for allowing them to exist. |
