Message | We need to keep the current policy so we ensure that nuclear power is never brought here. Nuclear power is inherently dangerous and not environmentally sustainable. After all, if we did have nuclear power - where would be put the waste? On the city streets of Baofluz? On a PLMO commune? We would have to face that troubling reality. We need to remain a leader in clean technology, alternative energy, and environmental sustainability. |

Message | The PLMO would support legislation in favor of nuclear power, as long as the waste isn't put on PLMO property, of course. We recommend using the many estates of Monsieur Jean-Didier Chabert. |

Message | I see. So you would rather we run on dirty coal or inefficient wind and solar power? Nuclear power has not been dangerous for ages and it IS environmentally sustainable. Burying nuclear waste deep underground in a giant concrete bunker is still cheaper than thousands upon thousands of solar panels and wind generators. Nuclear power is the most efficient form of energy and is in a technological stage wherein it is almost completely safe. There exist reactor designs that completely eliminate the possibility of a meltdown or contamination of surrounding water/air etc. This fear of nuclear power is a manifestation of environmental backwardness. |

Message | The benefits of clean energy outweigh all the financial costs. We do not want anyone in Jelbania to live on top of a giant bunker of nuclear waste. We need to continue subsidizing research and development of alternative energy sources. If the private sector wants to get in the energy industry, the government should lend a hand in helping them develop sustainable and clean energy sources. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
