Message | We are against this. We are a secular country, and anyone who works for the government is thusly an extension of such and therefore must remain secular, atleast while they are on the job. |

Message | A secular country does not mean an anti-religious one, this prevents people from wearing a cross around their necks, or other religious symbols. Private companies often allow their employees to wear their religious symbols, the government should not be oppressive in this regard. We fully support this pro-civil rights bill. |

Message | It does no such thing, people are allowed to wear a small cross necklace or even a loose headscarf, it prevents blatant things like 5x5 inch religious 'bling' and the full body tent burqas. OOC: Seriously look at fucking RP from the past. |
Date | 00:30:35, January 25, 2008 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the CP.0007.2521 Religious Clothing Liberty Bill |
Message | The law as it stands prevents any form of religious symbol, big or small. Since there is no middle ground, to protect civilian rights, it must be allowed. OOC: I agree that 5x5 inch religious 'bling' and the full body tent burqas should not be permitted in real-life but it does infringe on people's rights. So, countries/states discriminate or act in the name of reasonable accommodation to control such things. This game is way too simple to handle that sort of reality. =D |

Message | OOC: Hence why we add RP aspects to bills, to add a level of sentient complexity the game mechanics themselves are far to primitive (in terms of relative complexity) to handle. |

Message | We have been trying to get this measure passed for ages. A few parties in Sekowo do not seem to support freedom of religion. |

Message | You are infringing on the freedom from religion.... |

Message | Does one have a freedom from atheism? A freedom from knowledge? A freedom from speech, even? The Cult of Rights comes out here. If you have freedom from speech, then I cannot have freedom of speech. If you have freedom from religion, then I cannot have freedom of religion. It is hypocritical to support freedom from religion but not freedom from speech. And it is tyrannical to not support either. |

Message | Our party has no position on this issue. |

Message | Personaly, I feel the people should work it out on their own, hence why the government does not take sides at present. OOC: IRL I don't really support free speech.... so.... freedom of relgion and fredom from religon maybe, but speech no... I do not find it hypocritcal, people can do whatever they want, as long as the 2nd party is willing. IE you can smoke, but if the other person in your presence says "please stop", then you must stop. Its quite complicated and I'm not about to waste both our times by explaining it all here, but thats the gist of my rational. I do not expcet many to accept it, hence why I will just settle for government non-interference. (if you just read that line, please read all of this to take it in context) |

Message | [[I see. If you do not support free speech, well, that explains things. I'm still allowed to call it tyrannical IC, though. = ]] |
Date | 15:08:22, January 26, 2008 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the CP.0007.2521 Religious Clothing Liberty Bill |
Message | Too bad the FDP did not vote. But we know we can count on their support the next time we propose this bill. |
