MessageIt does not say that cloning is legal, it says the research is, there is a difference. Cloning, and the related genome research, can lead to medical breakthroughs that would cure many genetic diseases. We oppose this.

MessageThe wording is a little ambiguous we'll give him that....but if it can save lives, i see no reason why not.

MessageCloning in Telamon is only permitted for research purposes for looking into cures for diseases etc. as the Rationalists say. Therefore clones will not be discriminated against as they will not exist in everyday society (OOC: I'm not sure with current science that that would even be possible). The research is regulated to ensure that ethical and other standards are met and therefore we see no reason to change the law. Banning it would put Telamon and its people at a huge disadvantage.

MessageFrom what I can tell Humans will be cloned which will be Human beings when fully developed and testing on them would be wrong and murderous.

MessageWe agree with TNP, no cloning humans.

Cloning organs is fine...but not human beings.

What purpose can there be, to clone a fully functional human, only to use him as a guinea pig for diseases and conditions. it's just unethical.

UCA: Yes they would be discriminated....i really see no purpose in releasing clones into society, unless they will be used for science. Otherwise it's just pointless. But cloning humans...IRL, as far as we know is not possible yet.

MessageYou can't just grow one organ, it won't survive without the rest of the body.

Messageso it would be creating a full human LIFE and then killing it, that is murder of the innocent and we will not support it.

MessagePeople may have misunderstood my last post. I am not for the cloning of human beings (& as I said, it is impossible IRL at the moment, I think). What I said is that the current law if you read it allows regulated RESEARCH into CLONING TECHNIQUES, it does not allow the full scale cloning of humans for 'cosmetic' and other purposes as and when this might beocme possible in the future, therefore I support the current law and do not see need to change it. It is only for research purposes into possible technologies, not the actual cloning of humans which is allowed

MessageWith Regulated we can not be sure that it means humans can not be cloned it may limit the amount of humans that are cloned, this is wrong and evil. We must not clone Humans full stop.

MessageIf we ban cloning human beings then no human being will be made, it will not stop cloning organs.

MessageStill can't grow an organ without the rest, thus, if you want to clone organs, you have to clone the whole body, wait for it to develop to the required maturity, then you can harvest the organs wanted. Unfortunately, this is not very feasable so we must continue to research, hoping that at some point we can grow organs at an accelerated rate. Until then, if you want a liver (or any other organ) it must come from somebody. Cloning will not replace organ donation any time soon.
