Bill: UNITY

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Coalition of the Willing

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2525

Description[?]:

Strength through Unity is the only Strength.

In these uncertain times, where so-called politicians threaten innocent policemen and women, condone bombing legitimate political opponents, and act as the agent of a foreign power, we resolve the following:

Article 1
No-one may use streets or public property beyond the curfew time. Within 1km of any civil, political, or military structure, there will be a curfew of 8pm Sunday - Thursday. Anyone found on the streets after that time, without proof of legitimate business (i.e. travel to/from work etc) will be subject to a fine in the first instance, and increasing detention sentences for second and subsequent offences.

Article 2
The death penalty is not applied, except for terrorism, treason and crimes against mankind.

Article 3
All citizens are issued with identity cards and are required to carry them at all times. Failure to produce identification will result in a notice to produce documentation within 7 days to the local police service. Failure to comply will result in a fine, and possible custodial sentence.

Article 4
The government does not interfere with the military over who can serve in it

Article 6
There is a national police department, funded by the government.

Article 7
Police officers carry military-grade equipment, but only following full training and certification, and only when circumstances necessitate such use.

MessageWe have removed the amalgamation of Police and Military, but suggest that there is sufficient need for the military to support the police at this time.

MessageNo to articles 2, 3 and 6.

Discrimination should always be illegal.

There shouldn't be a curfew. It will just turn even more people against the Government as we tighten down on their civil liberties.

The death penalty should never be applied.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
