Message | hee hee hee, that us... no really, I am not a rabid anti-monarchist, but we used to be a republic until recently, and therefore I dont feel that the kingdom has any history or tradition behind it as it does in RL Britain, and Unelected representatives are pretty undemocratic, even if they are just figureheads. Plus there is a really cool new feature where you can support other peoples heads of state... if they are elected. |

Message | i think it is a good idea as a king is against my parties beliefes but i think we should have a counsil with a choosen spokes person that way no one person contrals the country and its best intrests are kept at heart. |

Message | Well, that was the idea in the old system. The senate was called the National Council, and the head of the council was called Speaker for the Council. It was rather commie, come to think of it, but a better system. I didnt want to do too much in this bill, such as change those names back around, for fear of lack of support. |

Message | Well, I'm confused... why would a 'liberal' and a 'libertarian' party, vote AGAINST democratic representation? |

Message | In our case, we felt that expanding the office of Head of State to have real power was not in keeping with our philosophy of smaller, more efficient government. |

Message | But, surely, the fundamental difference would have been changing the name, and removing the 'hereditary' part? I mean, the 'office' already exists... it is just called 'King'. The Bill didn't actually suggest giving any MORE power to that 'office'... just making it a little more democratic. |

Message | To us, the fundemental difference was removing the "symbolic" part of the office. This seemed to imply that there would be some real power in it. |
