Bill: Centre-right coalition proposal no.2

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bloc Militaire pour Restauration

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2527

Description[?]:

Since a multi-party cabinet is not feasible because it's not supported by all the parties needed, we propose this cabinet proposal.

MessageWe really do not know what kind options we have for a new cabinet because CUF and FDP will not support a united, multi-party cabinet.

MessageAs we stated earlier, we respect our colleagues in the CUF and FDP, but we are not interested in effectively continuing a center-right cabinet. We will support the cabinet proposed by PLMO which contains parties across the political spectrum. We also believe the country should be going into a more center-left direction, not center-right.

MessageWe feel that based on the amount of votes our party has received, the people of Jelbania trust us far more to determine what is right for the country.

The fact that your party has on numerous occasions tried to circumvent the voting public (early elections when one of your proposals wasn't passed) and its constant efforts to try and exclude and minimize the influence of the majority party in the executive branch has made us lose all confidence in the integrity of your party. Your party seems to have no respect for the Constitution or the state of democracy in Jelbania. We shall not be cooperating with your party until your party regains a leadership that is as moral, honest and trustworthy that your party has had in the past.

MessageWell.

We feel that after the ideological-based violence in the past decade it would have been beneficial to have a multi-party, non-ideological cabinet coalition.

We are really confused by your accusation that we have "tried to circumvent the voting public" on numerous occasions. The last early elections were called because DG dissolved and there were empty seats in the Assemblee. That is a practice we have followed for many years and your party should be very aware of that.

We have not tried to minimize the influence of the majority party. CUF is the majority party now - and you were included in the multi-party cabinet proposal!! How is that minimizing your influence?? How have we not been moral, trustworthy, or honest??

Despite your statement that your party will not cooperate with us - UCC intends on cooperating with your party when it is beneficial to the nation. We still respect your beliefs, but we are disturbed by these recent comments.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
