MessageWE WANT A QUEEN!!!

If he is also a king, that doesn't matter.

Bad joke I know, but seriously, we need a gender-neutral royal/imperial title.

MessageI should explain. I asked about the gender specific title thing on the forums and they basically said it wasn't a feature they could be bothered to implement and to stick with King/Emperor like everyone else. However, they also said the game would ignore everything after a line return so I put one between the titles. The game clearly doesn't ignore everything after the line return at all.

I can't think of any genderless titles can you? The best I can think of is to have the title as HM then include King or Queen in the name.

MessageIt doesn't work as a title though. We're talking about the the title that goes in front of the name here, not the name used for the office in general.

We've been instructed to change it by Wouter so why don't we agree to pass an act to remove the Queen part, as the current sovereign is a man. That we can get out of this silly situation and get a proper title back that is in the spirit of the original restoration bill.

Then we can debate changing it at length. I know the Guardians and my own party prefer Emperor.

I've got it: Imperial Majesty (no His or Her). How's that sound to everyone?

MessageWe need 500 votes for a 2/3 majority so I hope it's gender-neutral enough for the LLP.

Imperial Majesty William III
Imperial Majesty Elizabeth II

Personally I would like 'Die Gratia <chosen name> Rex Fidel Defensor' but I don't suppose it would get too much support.

MessageMy reason for the gender-neutral title was to remove the need to change it every time a new monarch was of a different gender to the last, and to lessen the possiblity of one gender being exxcluded from being monarch. I was not insulting anyone. My joke, which was a terrible pun, was born out of a train of thought I had of a cross-dressing king (king and drag queen), that could use both titles at the same time, they could also be hermaphroditic, thus explaining why the game put both titles in at once, as I said a bad joke that was not meant to be offensive.

Messagei'm not talking about the HoS, i'm talking about the HoG.

the people don't vote for the highest power in the land, the politicians do.

i'd rather have the highest power in the land someone that the people agree with than be handed off as a political football.

MessageOOC: I'm actually glad to be in the Netherlands, a country were the politics count and not some silly populist person...ironically those get killed here:P

No really, I prefer a party system over a candidate system. I vote for the people in the parliament, not some government official. But thats all OOC.

MessageAs things stand the largest party proposes cabinets and they are likely to appoint a Chief Minister from their own party. As they have the largest public support it follows that the highest power is elected by popular vote.

We could always introduce a proposal-free bill that states it will become the convention for the largest party to hold the position of Chief Minister (as there is no in game option to make this happen) and if it passes it would down to us all to stick to it as it wont be enforced by the game mechanics.
