Message | We have a nation that outlaws discrimination at work but as we all know that female sex workers will make and do make more money then their male counterparts. it is not equal and that is ok if it is an illegal trade but not if it is ok'ed by the nations government. |

Message | You want to ban prostitution because women have higher earning power than men? At least that's a novel argument. |

Message | Positive Discrimination No form of positive discrimination is permitted. Yet the Government has legislated an unequal employment oppurtunity, discrimination in an equal and just society cannot be concentrated to only minorities and women but all citizens of this nation men included. choosing to legislate an unequal employment is unfathomable. |

Message | I think you confuse opportunity and demand. A male prostitute is free to charge himself out at whatever rate he feels he is worth, just like a female prostitute. If customers do not choose to partake in those services at that price, that is their choice. As a customer I can be as discriminatory as I like, and for any reason. I can choose not to use my local corner shop if I don't like the race of the shopkeeper. At the supermarket checkout I can avoid the 6th lane if the person at the till is physically deformed and I don't like disabled people. I can choose not to go to a particular pub if the landlord is gay and I hate gays, I can not go to see a particular movie if it has mostly women in it and I hate women. I wonder if positive discrimination is really your reason for the 'decency' act or whether this strawman is to mask your desire to impose your own puritanical moral views on the rest of society. |
