MessageI feel it is right to leave this up to local governments so that they can determine what is best for their regions in each situation. Devolution of powers and responsibilities is a good thing and is fundamentally key in the way Solentia is governed, we do not want to see this changed.

MessageThe Conservative and Morality Party are undecided in their stance on this issue. What are the DLP reasonings for seeing this bill as neccessary?

The CMP issued the Shelter's legislation not too long ago and we are confident that we made the right decision. The defence of the people should be in the hands of the people, what is right for the defence in Rocky Orame is not always best for the moors of Fuwan...

Also, we do not support Article 2, we feel that it is a direct undermine of the Personal sovereignty that Industry has as a collective unit.

MessageGiven that the CMP recently proposed legislation on this matter, we regret that we did not discuss this more with you in advance.

That said, we do find the current proposal to be prefferable. We agree with the CMP's premise that the defense of the people should be in the hands of the people. However, we find that allowing a decision made in, say, Orame to overrule a decision made by a majority of the representatives in our fairly elected Senate to be unacceptable.

It is for similar reasons that we support Article 2. Local governments could thwart a decision made by workers in industry at least as easily as the national government could. Ultimately the best way to insure that government does the will of the people is to have only one government count the votes of the people and do what they have empowered it to do.

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current.

Random quote: "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington
