MessageIt never was fun. It's a very boring game unless you get involved and try to rp something, instead of repeatedly voting on the same bills over and over.

MessageOOC: I vote yes, even if I think that any real empire should be ruled by an emperor and not a mere tsar.

MessageOOC: "Originally, and indeed during most of its history, the title Tsar (derived from Caesar) meant Emperor in the European medieval sense of the term, that is, a ruler who has the same rank as a Roman or Byzantine emperor (or, according to Byzantine ideology, the most elevated position adjacent to the one held by the Byzantine monarch) due to recognition by another emperor or a supreme ecclesiastical official (the Pope or the Ecumenical Patriarch).

Occasionally, the word could be used to designate other, non-Christian, supreme rulers. In Russia and Bulgaria the imperial connotations of the term were blurred with time and, by the 19th century, it had come to be viewed as an equivalent of King.[1][2]" Wikipedia

MessageOOC: Caesar doesn't technically mean emperor, that would be Augustus. The correct Russian word for emperor is Imperator. The meaning of the word tsar is more closely translated as king, but has often been used, erroneously, as the title of the Russian emperors. Since 1721 the official title of the Russian monarchs has been Imperator, as Peter I wanted to become more than just a lowly tsar.

MessageA hundred years ago the emperor was tsar of Poland, Siberia, etc. but Imperator of Russia.
