A national ID card would have many benifits it could totally replace all the seperate cards people own and not infringe on any civil liberties (other than what is already infringed).
OOC: As a student one of these cards would be great, it could rplace your Passport, Drivers License, NUS and a whole host of other cards I have to carry around.
