Bill: Civil War Ground Rules

Details

Submitted by[?]: Pan-Sekowo Freedom Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2530

Description[?]:

With the possibility of a civil war if the APP reacts violently to our recent attempts to restore democracy, we feel steps must be taken to ensure that everything possible is done to limit the damge.

Thus we propose that the Sekowan Military stay impartial during any future civil conflicts, that those conflicts be decided exclusivley through a contest of party militia.

MessageNo the military simply stays impartial. Just like the folkstamma continues to sit annd legislate during a civil war, the army continues to go about all it's duties, only it does not get involved in the conflict

OOC all it would mean is we avoid having to do a long and complex debate over who gets to use what in the military, which was a problem in the last civil war. In practice all it would mean is we all stick to the paramilitary forces of our own partys. Since there rnt really guidelines on how to divide the military in case of civil war.

MessageHm, ok.

OOC:
Realisticall, soldiers who are registered to a party would probably be the groups that make up the extreme and fanatical militants who comprise a militia, that's why I asked.

Messageyeah thats true, this bill is more so we don't have to decide stuff like what percentage of helicopters go to which side etc.

If individual soldiers want to fight as members of our paramilitary, they can, but the Army as an organisation, with all it's equipment and budget, stays impartial

MessageThe duty of the Federal Armed Forces of Sekowo is to protect the innocent citizens of Sekowo from any dangers, foreign or domestic. The equipment of the armed forces is solely the property of the government of Sekowo, not unlawful militias. Military personnel, who willingly joined the military, have a duty to the Federal Commonwealth of Sekowo, not to a party. All soldiers who abandon their posts are deserters and they will be tried as such in military court and could face fines and/or jail sentences. If they commit murder against one or more people of Sekowo, they can be tried a second time by the criminal courts.

The Federal Armed Forces of Sekowo is the people's army. They fight to protect the people. The Sekowan military condones any organization that attempts to usurp the authority of the police and/or military. Thus, the military will aid the police forces in maintaining peace and order and protection of the Sekowan people.

MessageOOC: Woohoo! USMC, we are neutral too! Sweet! We are not alone. Wait ... if you are neutral ... why are you voting yes? Maybe we are standing for different neutralities. I want Sekowo not taking sides but acting on behalf of humanitarian reasons. And if a militia (stupidly) attacks the people then they should be punished because the people did not ask for this; power hungry politicians did. =) Diplomacy should always come before killings.
