The total reduction in tax collected represents a 10.6% income tax cut, with most benefits to the lowest income earners. |

Income tax is a necessary evil, in that we have only three sources of revenue: imcome tax, corporate profit tax, and sales tax. The Liberals would prefer to levy tariffs on trade, tolls on freeways and bridges, and user fees on airports and seaports. We will work to reduce the income tax, especially on the poor, whenever possible. |
