| Message | A) Our television laws do not make any kind of distinction between the depiction of consenting adults and non-consenting adults. B) This proposal makes no comment on the legality of rape. If someone films a rape, then they are complicit in the crime, as is the rapist themselves. This is fairly obvious. C) The proposal deals with depictions, not with acts. So someone makes a video that depicts a rape. Big fucking whoop. Rape is simulated frequently in films as a dramatic device. So what if its sexualised? Do we believe people are monkeys who do what they see with no thought for the consequences? If so, they deserve to be convicted of a crime and locked up. |
