MessageDSP's view is nothing more than state sanctioned criminal activities. Those who commit crime must serve their time, not being paid for it. How can the DSP possibly support criminals above the innocent unemployed people of Sekowo? That makes no sense. If you are in jail, you serve your work time. Outside of jail, you get paid for your work time.

MessageThis is a tough choice for the FDP but at the end of the day we still believe prisoners have some rights, including the right not to be a slave. We must vote no.

MessageFDP, it's not slavery. They are serving time. Why would you pay a criminal to be in jail?

MessagePrison is expensive. This is a way to recap costs. Punishment is punishment, whether it be confinement (solitary or otherwise), paying fines, or community service (which is exactly what forced labour is).

MessageYes, as long as the prisoners are not replacing the jobs of other sectors of society.

I would guess that prisoners being paid a small wage to do something will recoup costs as what they produce will be more valuable than what they are paid.

MessageNot likely. Minimum wage is minimum wage.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
