Description[?]:
There are several holes in our judicial system that must be mended. If a person is a citizen of our great nation then they should not fear being sent to another nation and tried for alleged crimes. Other nations have varied laws that may enact obscene punishments for minor infractions. As such, all our citizens must be safe in their person and know that appearances at trial will only take place on Telamon's sovereign soil. Additionally, there are many individuals who can afford legal representation on their own but rely on the government to fund their defense. Government should care for those who cannot care for themselves. Misuse of the system prevents those in need from getting the protect they deserve while ballooning expenses. Reforming this to ensure that those in low income settings can receive free defense at trial is a necessity. Those who can afford to should pay for their own legal defense thereby saving the government from added expense. |
