Description[?]:
To Our Respected Colleagues, With the recent news of the rise of the bankrupt Nuncirism ideology manifest in the Gaian Nuncirist Party in our neighbor nation, Wantuni. This can not and should go unnoted and we must prepare ourselves to confront this defilers of freedom, liberty and all that this Republic stands for. Do not forget, this is the same ideaology that once brought totalitarian views to Solentia! Given that we were also aggressively pursuing a mutual peace treaty with Wantuni this could not have possibly come at a worse time. I urge and plead that my respected colleagues vote their constituents desires and see this in a pragmatic light. Federal Republican League, Minister of Defense, Ulysses Conrad Rowlins |

Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:
Date | 07:08:26, February 22, 2008 CET | From | Social Democratic Party | To | Debating the Domestic Military Protection Reform Act of 2535 |
Message | We will support Articles 1, 2, and 5. We would consider supporting Article 3, if it were demonstrated that the Gaian Nuncirist Party were a more imminent threat than we believe them to be. |
Date | 07:13:26, February 22, 2008 CET | From | National Solidarity Front | To | Debating the Domestic Military Protection Reform Act of 2535 |
Message | The NSF supports this bill, but we do have lingering doubts on Article One. Race and religion are a large part of every Solentian's life and we must ensure that the men and women they are serving with hold their views. These Solentians are pledging their very lives to our great nations protection. They should serve with their true Soletian brothers and sisters, not just their geographic associates. |

Message | To the Democratic Liberal Party, It is with utmost respect we reply to your concerns. I've no issue with being blunt on this topic and I hope this is understood. As has been said, the Gaian Party is a threat to not be taken lightly. They once through their poisonous ideologies overtook our proud Federal Republic and turned it into a flat-out dictatorship. I can understand how you may not seen this as a concern for now but, what of the future? This proposal aims to prepare us for the worse while allowing us to hope for the best. As well, with the failed treaty with Wantuni there seems very little chance for peace. How can we sit idly by with a weak military? We must be prepared for whatever may come. We ought carry a big-stick and speak softly, my respected colleague. Respectfully, Minister of Defense, Ulysses Conrad Rowlins |

Message | Respectfully, To those doubting the threat, the Democratic Liberal Party released the following statement: "My Colleagues, I fear that a dark hour is upon us. Nuncirists -- members of a totalitarian movement from Solentia's past -- are on the rise in Wantuni. It was they who prevented the reratification of the Solentian-Wantuni Friendship Pact. It is our opinion that we must immediately rethink our foreign policy, especially in regards to Wantuni. Kamila May DLP Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs" |
Date | 03:40:16, February 23, 2008 CET | From | Federal Independent Party | To | Debating the Domestic Military Protection Reform Act of 2535 |
Message | We support most articles in this legislation with exception to articles 2 and 5. It is the party's belief that the nation will never sell weaponry unless it is to very close allies who we know will never utilize the arms for negative purposes. Article 5 is something which violates our belief that each human, no matter who they are, is entitled to the basic right of safety. No matter who this person is and what they've done, we may not stoop down to a level of cruelty to try and reveal information from them or for whatever purpose. We believe as a party that torture is inhumane and can never serve a beneficial purpose. An entity that utilizes torture is no better than the terrorist it tortures, because only a terrorist would violate a basic human right. We will support this bill, but with caution towards Article 5. Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
