Message | Morality does not exist. Freedom for all people to do what they choose to themselves. |
Date | 06:24:26, February 27, 2008 CET | From | Normand Pluralist Party | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | Freedom for all societies to do what they choose for themselves! Remember, no man is an island. That's why government exists. |
Date | 06:35:44, February 27, 2008 CET | From | 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō) | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | The individual is sovereign, no one has the right to tell them what they can and can not do to/with themselves. Government exists primarily to protect freedom. |
Date | 06:51:39, February 27, 2008 CET | From | Normand Pluralist Party | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | The DSP, however, opposed the individual's right to express religion (evidently the DSP feels that they have the right to tell people what they can and cannot do with themselves). No man is an island. Every individual interacts with and influences others. If a man in a crowded theatre yells "fire!", that man has not simply made a choice which affects himself. The same applies to a man who smokes in a crowded theatre, or who perhaps continues to talk unceasingly during a film. Someone who poisons a well is not affecting only themselves. Nor is someone who poisons the air. Chemicals are very dangerous substances. Sekowo has very strict laws regarding chemical weapons. But chemicals can also have a profound affect on an individual, and nationalized companies in Sekowo can make a FORTUNE off of engendering addiction and encouraging drug usage. Small Sekowan communities are not in a position to combat multi-billion dollar drug companies except through the law. We wish to guard their right to protect the freedom and values of their communities through the law, instead of stripping that right from them and leaving them at the mercy of those who could easily enslave them for financial gain. |

Message | ... we also wonder if the DSP's accountants were involved in using recreational drugs when they analyzed our budget proposal... |
Date | 07:25:15, February 27, 2008 CET | From | 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō) | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | Considering the fact that Pharmaceutical companies are nationalized, the point is moot. |
Date | 18:12:38, February 27, 2008 CET | From | Peasant Party Of Sekowo | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | I fail to see how unhindered drug use is a freedom that should be supported. All you do is make the word freedom meaningless. |
Date | 18:50:38, February 27, 2008 CET | From | Peasant Party Of Sekowo | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | The government has a right to step in when a person is clearly not acting in their best interests. Such as suicide, self mulitation, drug abuse, public obscenity, utter death threats and so for. I bet the next bill will be about the "Freedom" to kill children. |
Date | 23:05:50, February 27, 2008 CET | From | 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō) | To | Debating the DSP.080.2538 |
Message | The government has no authority to doa ny of that. |
