Message | Legislators jump to legalization because they think nothing else is successful. That's the wrong attitude to have. Reasons why it should not be legal: 1) Child prostitution. There is nothing that states a child is protected from such a profession. 2) Authorities will be preoccupied keeping an eye on the 'legal' industry, the sex industry will grow too large for them to regulate. With no penalties or crimini 3) Sex trafficking. Organizers can buy and sell individuals without legal repercussion. 4) Motivation for individuals to 'buy' another person for sex. The product is the individual, not a service. 5) Pimps will have more power, thus more individuals can be forced into prostitutes without legal repercussion. 6) The health of the individuals is jeopardized because there are no regulations in place that would stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Granted this can also happen in loving relationships, the risk is very high when it's a different client every hour. 7) Reputation of Sekowo. Our tourism industry will be filled with pedophils and loners looking for some fun instead of our rich culture. 8) Choice of profession of the individual. Prostitutes do not grow up aspiring to be in such an industry. They do it out of survival. The government should allow individuals a second chance to make something of themselves and have a career and not have to sell themselves. These are some major reasons why prostitution should be illegal in Sekowo. |

Message | 2 is wrong. 3 happens when it is illegal and won't happen when it is legal, if it does, its still a crime. 4 - slavery is still illegal 5 - no, wrong. Pimps will not have more power, prostitutes will have more power as they'll be able to form collectives and not rely on a pimp protecting them. 6) There can be regulations when it is legal. when it is illegal this is even more jeoparised. 7) Most countries legalise it 8) People can do what they want |

Message | We can still see valid arguments on both sides of this issue. As we are still very divided, we shall vote with consensus. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
