MessageArticle 1: The CP does not like the idea of their doctors not performing operations, firemen watching buildings burn or policemen standing idly by when a person is being shot at. These disputes should be resolved immediately by the Minister of Trade and Industry directly.

OOC: like in Quebec =)

Article 2: "I'm striking because I don't work with Dovani-borns." That is not a reasonable reason to strike. That is a ridiculous reason to strike. The CP wonders what reasoning DSP was using when thinking to propose such a law.

MessageStrikes are comprised of many individuals, a single individual refusing to work for a frivolous reason would not be considered a strike.

MessageDSP is correct. Strikes are caused by many individuals. Then, the CP restates its argument in the plural. If a large group of workers oppose working with non-heterosexual co-workers, it would be discriminating but it's a reason to strike. Not a reasonable one but nevertheless a reason. Silliness has no place in the workplace and disruptions in the economy caused by acts of stupidity should not go unpunished. Removing a troubled worker from a workplace is a good solution.

MessageA strike like that would end up with those workers being fired even without the current law, this would thusly eleiminate people like that either way.

MessageDSP, they would have a reason to strike. There are no limitations on their reason to strike. With the DSP's proposal, they would be allowed to protest about whatever they want. Anything from wanting more snacks in the vending machine to zookeepers protesting that they shouldn't have to work with carnivorous lions.

PPS, true so we have no intention of opening such a possibility. If no unreasonable situations have ever occurred yet, what does this law harm? The law protects companies in case of unreasonable circumstances. Therefore, according to the PPS' statement, the law should remain unchanged. Why does the PPS vote 'yes'?

MessageWe would actually consider supporting the first article had the second article banning employers firing workers who go on strike not been attached.

With that article, workers could be on strike for long periods, crippling the business and not be able to be fired.
