From | Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa) | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of May 2543 | Message | It is time to begin another discussion about Aloria's budget. We urge *all* parties to participate in budget talks at *this stage* about Aloria's budget goals.
We agree with the MLP that some budget priorities have been neglected: the Ministries of Justice and Infrastructure and Transport in particular need more funding. Justice is now receiving about the same funding it did when the Democratic Rationalists began in Aloria in the 2430's. Aloria's population has exploded since then, and its courts our now overcrowded. Our infrastructure is likewise crumbling: we need new roads, and new bridges.
But we need revenues to do these things. That's why we've proposed this adjustment to the income tax. If it passes, we would distribute the majority of the revenues generated from it to the Ministries of Justice and Infrastructure and Transport.
We urge also a more *general* budget discussion, about Aloria's long range budget goals. Should Aloria's budget be cut? If so, what areas and why? Should Aloria's budget be increased? If so, what areas and why? Input from *all* parties is desired. |

From | Conservative Union | To | Debating the Income tax proposal of May 2543 | Message | It is true; lowering taxes brings in more of a revenue.
OOC: Look at what Romney did in Massachusetts, he lowered taxes and it brought in a bigger revenue. Along with Giuliani in NYC, it brought in a bigger revenue. |

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve. |
Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
