Bill: Foreign Investment Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Defense and Federalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2545

Description[?]:

Some areas of Beluzia (areas near the border) may have an increased demand for foreign investment. Our tax laws and free government may entice nationals of other nations to build their businesses on our side of the border, rather then their own.

However, some localities not near foreign borders may want to limit the investment of foreign companies, to keep the wealth inside our great nation.

Therefore, I propose that we leave it up to local governments to decide on this, as one blanket policy is not applicable in all situations.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
