Bill: Drugs Act of 2544

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Bolshevik Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2546

Description[?]:

I hope that this time we can put an end to drug abuse. What is the reason to encourage addictive, potentially fatal and crime-causing drugs? Money, perhaps? Mr. Capitalist isn't rich enough already so let's let him sacrifice the health and well-being of our people to increase the size of his wallet!

MessageThe only "crime" these drugs cause results from the laws that some nations enact to control and prohibit them. If using the drugs is not against the law, no law is broken. Prohibition does nothing to remove the use of drugs from the society, it simply moves it underground where it becomes unregulated and untaxed -- and more associated with violence all the while.

Random fact: Players are expected to behave in a courteous, co-operative manner and make a reasonable effort to act with the consent of all players involved, even where the rules do not make consent strictly necessary. In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules.
