Bill: Education Initiative Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Disdainist PSWP

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2545

Description[?]:

As the Junta has promised that it does not currently seek violence (and the Communist allies may have across the borders are ready to provided defences should they be needed) we propose to move to the second phase of our defense bill.

We will propose to move the emergency defense funding into the fields of education and culture, so that future generations of voters may be more well-informed on the issues and ideologies of Gaduridos.

We feel that better education will allow equality to come to our nation in a more complete and true way. It will also allow future generations to further an understanding with the cultures and people of Vintalli.

MessageWe shouldn't rely on foreign powers to provide defense for Gaduridos. Such a cut in defense funding is unacceptable.

MessageThis is not a cut, this is merely a return to the original budget, the budget that existed before the Junta was formed.

MessageAccording to the "Revolutionary Protection Fund" (http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=179396) the old appropriation for defense was 11,300,000,000,000 GAD. The current proposal cuts the defense budget by 800,000,000,000 GAD from pre-Revolutionary Protection Fund levels.

MessageYes, but we feel that the presence of more right-wing political factions allows us to cut our military budget, as we have to worry less about invasion by a right-wing power.

MessageI don't know, have you ever visited a Gaduridos school? The children were doing mathematics on the back of shovels....and I would almost swear that the books still referred to our nation as "The Dull Republic of Gaduridos".....

MessageGaduridos must protect itself from invasion regardless of who is in the legislature. Such logic makes no sense. If a power is bent on invading our nation, they will not stop because there is a similar government present.
