Bill: UCG14 - Child Labor Act of January 2546
Details
Submitted by[?]: Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2546
Description[?]:
Let us allow local government to determine standards based on local conditions and needs. We feel quite certain that local leaders and voters are better suited to this role, given they are closer to the situation and now can have the freedom to regulate child labor further than the "one-size-fits-all" mandates from the State. |

Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning child labour.
Old value:: Child labour is allowed, but with additional regulations to those of adult labourers.

Message | We can see it now: centers of fascism and evil throughout the nation will be enslaving five year olds and working them to death in coal mines. In fact this is already happening, despite the best efforts of those uncorrupted few left in this government. |

Message | Uncorrupt few? The Center-Left (you are the Left Forpees, yes, yes you are) make up almost 3/5 of the Senate. So hopefully you are not speaking poorly of your fellows in the Government. |

Message | No no no, maybe you didn't know, but then if it's regulated by local governments we can have child sweatshops. Which are evil. Yes, consider those cheap Nikes you're wearing. You'd be disgusted if Kanjoran children were making them. So let's continue to let poor Aldurian half-breeds to continue what they do best. . . forced child labor! |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
