Message | No.... It is the schools decision and as well as the neighbourhoods decision if they want religion in their public schools. You may say it discriminates against other religions, but how do we know that the classroom isn't all of one religion. Or the whole school even? This would not stop discrimation at all, and is just a way of giving religion absolutely no say at all. I know we agree with the seperation of Church and State and all...but you are just throwing it away. |

Message | "You may say it discriminates against other religions, but how do we know that the classroom isn't all of one religion. Or the whole school even?" The opposite could also be true, it could be made up of several religions, or almost all one religion and a handfull who don't agree, I have no problem with prayer in school, it's the teacher lead that's wrong |

Message | I see both points, but to forbid prayer is to forbid ALL prayers, even nondenominational or general appeals to a generic higher power for help in focusing, as in meditating. And yet, teachers are in a position of authority and may abuse that for their own religious agenda. The best way to regulate that is at the local level. |
