Bill: Industrial Privatisation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2112
Description[?]:
As the Rationalists bill on industrial change will not pass due to the inclusion of their proposals on energy regulation, we propose this bill to look again at the second proposal of their bill, namely to decide what help if any the state should give to private companies which are in trouble and to privatisae all industry. The 3 options to consider are: 1. The state does not interfere in the market at all (no industrial subsidies or help at all) 2. The state helps ailing private companies by giving them subisidies (subsidies to all industries) 3. The state acts as an investor of last resort by nationalising failing industries of strategic importnce (nationalisation, but only of strategic industries). This is my prefered one, but I'm not sure if the election system would penalise us if we voted for this one now, given that we have voted against the same proposal in another bill (because we dislkiked the rest of the bill) So what does everyone think? Which one shall we have? I should just point out that according to a recent opinion poll in the news, the public of Telamon was asked about this and: 26% want option 1 17% want option 2 12% want option 3 Just thought that you might want to know!!! |

Message | I agree most with #1 actually, I just think that there are a few industries (like electrical production) that are best left to Crown Corporations |
