Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - National Security (ii)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2111

Description[?]:

As an adjunct to the AAP National Security "Chemical Weapons" Bill - In the interests of freedom, national security, and greatest number of options, the Anarch Anakrousite Party recommends that the Likatonian government look at our nuclear weapon policy, with a view to revision.

Let us state - the AAP does not WANT to use nuclear weapons, and does not ENDORSE use of nuclear weapons. In fact, the AAP fervently hopes that Likatonia NEVER uses nuclear weapons.

However, at the moment we MAY use nuclear weapons, but only if some other nation strikes first - by which time, of course, it is too late to do anything CONSTRUCTIVE.

The AAP believes our nuclear weapons will be more of a deterrent, IF we allow ourselves a "First Strike" option. Not that we ever WANT to use it.... just so it is there.

MessageNO. This is an agressive policy which will rightly cause unease and distrust among our neighbours. It will not make us safer, on the contrary those who feel threatened by this legislation are likely to be a lot less lenient towards us.

MessageYes we are not too sure about it either. Although we are pro-military, we can't see the use in informing our neighbours that we are prepared to use our nukes for any reason whatsoever.

MessageWe or the RLP would prefer to see the current policy maintained for reasons of international relationships.

MessageThe AAP is concerned. Our national safety is at stake.

One of our nearest neighbours (Keymon), a few handfuls of miles to our West, allows First Strikes with both nuclear and chemical weapons. The next three of our closest neighbours ALL allow second strike (as we do) with nuclear weapons.

Would there not be wisdom in 'stepping up' our preparedness? After all - we could always revert to our 'second strike' status (if we so choose), IF the international community expressed concerns?

MessageThe AAP would like to point out that the nuclear capacity of a nation has little to do with a headcount of the population.

Keymon may be small, and have few citizens, but they are a major military risk. The AAP advises the other Likatonian parties to examine the militaristic maneuvering of the ruling party of Keymon, and the increasingly alarming posturings of the "Keymon Society".
