Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - National Security (iii)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2111

Description[?]:

The AAP believes that the time has come, for the Likatonian government to allow women (who choose to do so) to act in the active defence of Likatonia.

Not that the AAP WISHES to see Likatonian women on the frontline, any more than they WISH to see Likatonian men on the frontline. However, we believe, perhaps, it is time to give our brave Likatonian women the option to serve on the frontline, if they CHOOSE to do so.

MessageHeck no. There are subtle differences between men and women that mean it is far better to have men only in the front line.

We also have to consider that if women are allowed into combat units, then surely these units will have to be segregated into male and female sections, it would add extra pressures to unit morale to expect them to mix.

If a woman is injured male soldiers are going to show her far more compassion than if a male soldier were injured. This is dangerous in a combat situation and adds extra stress to officers and soldiers alike.

What if a female solder were to be captured. We must except that certain enemies are more than likely to mistreat and abuse a captured female soldier than her male colleague.

Time and time again the Armed Forces have shown that they do not want women to serve in the frontline.

Once againw e feel that the AAP is pushing a policy in the name of equality, rather than thinking in practical terms.

MessageIf women are tough enough to pass the same physical tests as men, they are tough enough to serve alongside them, and being intelligent men the male members of the army will realise that they deserve equal treatment. The issue of maltreatment upon capture is a risk that any woman will have to consider when applying to join the army, but it should be her choice. Equality should not be undervalued, and though women are different to men these differences often mean that they can bring different but equally valuable skills to the forces.

MessageIn the infantry, what different skills do you need? Through the ages man has shown himself to be prepared to fight in face to face combat? We doubt female recruits would be able to put a bayonet into another human, we doubt any man would put a bayonet into a famale soldier either.

Equality is not desirable in the armed forces. Are you really suggesting that disabled people should be allowed to fight in the infantry?

The CPL, if this bill is passed, promises to repeal it if ever we get into power.

MessageWe thank the party members for their input, and intend to immediately push this proposal to vote, as is.

We believe the LPE makes a very good point... if a female soldier is CAPABLE and WILLING to take a frontline job, there is no good reason to prevent them from occupying such a position.

This is the opinion of the AAP.

no. If you had read carefully I mentioned the passing of stringent physical tests.

"We doubt female recruits would be able to put a bayonet into another human,"

That is something they will have to consider upon applying. If they don't feel they can do that they wouldn't apply. I think most women know their own capabilities. For example I know I wouldn't, given the choice, kill somebody in the name of my country, but then I'm a pacifist, so my sex has little to do with it. I am pretty sure that I could kill somebody in self defense, and once you are in a combat position that is effectively what it is. And I'm a girl.

"we doubt any man would put a bayonet into a famale soldier either"

All the better, if the opponent also feels like this! invincible troops. (though I don't think that would actually be the case). And it isnt as if we are going to want to be bayonetting our own women.
