Bill: Fireworks Bill of May 2549

Submitted by[?]: National Zeus Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Every year you hear of children who hurt themselves while playing with fireworks, we should not allow them to buy fireworks any longer. If an adult buys them and then lets them play with them then ok, but to put it directly into their hands would be irresponsible. |

Message | Respectfully, The Federal Republican League as a matter of policy is against this proposal though, it is a wise one. It would be our desire to allow minors to purchase certain grades of harmless fireworks, sparklers and smoke-bombs and the likes while reserving more potent items to adults. As is, we must abstain from such a proposal. Signed, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Julitta Gwenaëlle |
Date | 06:11:14, March 22, 2008 CET | From | Solentian Populist Party | To | Debating the Fireworks Bill of May 2549 |
Message | Respectfully, The United Democratic Party would, like the F.R.L., prefer that children be allowed to purchase innocent novelty fireworks, such as sparklers, smoke bombs, snappers, confetti poppers, etc. We are thoroughly against children being able to purchase dangerous fireworks and explosives, however. As it stands, we would support you on this legislation, but we would prefer that you modify it to allow the sale of innovent novelty items. As the F.R.L. has shown us, the bill would be more likely to pass if that alteration was made. Signed, Director of Health and Social Services, Amy Sapp |

Message | The United Democratic Party would further like to commend the National Zeus Party. Never before have we seen such willingness in a party to make changes in the name of bipartisanship. We are thoroughly impressed with your politics.. You have our complete support for this legislation. |
