Bill: Abortion Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Radical Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2551

Description[?]:

We recognise that all women are entitled to control over their own bodies, and deserve freedom to make decisions over it. By restricting abortions, the government puts the lives of these women at risk, and appears both unsensitive and austere in the face of an issue that has an impact on the lives of all women.

We believe that abortions should be legalised indefinitely. With this comes responsibility, and therefore, we do not support partial-birth abortions. Abortions should only be able to be carried out in the first trimester of pregnancy.
