Bill: Demilitarisation of Likatonia
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Workers' Party and CTUL List
Status[?]: defeated

Voting deadline: December 2551
Description[?]:
The Democratic Workers' Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica. Following the Lodamunese conflict, it is recognised by Convocation that it is necessary to demobilise much of the Likatonian forces, and to downgrade the arsenal of the Likatonian military. Date | 19:47:47, March 25, 2008 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Demilitarisation of Likatonia |
Message | We cannot support at this juncture - our main focus is on wresting illegal control of the military from the tyrant - not dismantling our armed force completely. |
Date | 08:53:11, March 26, 2008 CET | From | Zuma for Likatonia Party | To | Debating the Demilitarisation of Likatonia |
Message | Has Likatonia gone mad ? You want to disarm while you still have a potentially dangerous neighbour in Lodamun? Just at the moment that Zuma is actually reaching out to the Greater Likatonia movement for support ? Surely this this is bad for all the countries in this area, not least Likatonia. |
Date | 09:47:05, March 26, 2008 CET | From | Likaton Coalition of the Willing | To | Debating the Demilitarisation of Likatonia |
Message | Our Zuman brothers are right. Just because a few dangerous madmen went on a killing spree, we shouldn't leave ourselves, or our allies, undefended. |

Message | "dangerous madmen went on a killing spree" -such as the GLNF Defence Minister? |
Date | 20:47:42, March 26, 2008 CET | From | Likaton Coalition of the Willing | To | Debating the Demilitarisation of Likatonia |
Message | The GLNF Defence Minister was generally bypassed by the First Advocate, or at best pressured by some of his cabinet colleagues. He is happy to stand trial if needed, and is convinced that the official record will vindicate him. |
