Message | It's not a mandatory retirement, it's when they get retirement pension. They can work till they are 100, if they survive. But if they retire at 60, they can't get a government pension. |

Message | No, no, you're thinking of this term in the American sense. Retirement pension comes from the company you work for, and is set by the company. If the company says 55 is the age, then at 55 they can retire. It all depends on what plan and how much they agree to pay in if they opt into retirement through their business. Retirement Age in the British/European sense [as this is modeled after] means at what age retirement is mandatory - when one can no longer work full time and must become a pensioner.
